Welcome to Midway, Arkansas

While Midway, Arkansas, is not an incorporated town, the community at the intersection of Arkansas Highway 178 and Arkansas Highway 5 is very important to the surrounding area.

Midway is the home of the Baxter County Industrial Park and the Baxter County Regional Airport, but there are large areas of land still devoted to farming.

Industrial Park

It is managed by the Baxter County Industrial Park Board which serves as a link to the financing tools available from the State of Arkansas to those wishing to establish business in the park. A Bit of Midway History
The push for both the airport and the industrial park was begun in 1964 as

"an act of faith by a group of local businessmen who were convinced that the area needed to take a bold step if it was to continue its advancement in industry and other fields."
                    --
The Baxter Bulletin, March 18, 1965

These men formed the non-profit Industrial Development Corporation of the Ozarks which developed the airport and industrial park facility, depending only on their own funds and  the financial input of the citizens of the Twin Lakes area and no federal funding.

Utilities
Many Midway residents and businesses are served by the Lakeview-Midway Water Association, which can be reached at 870-431-8777.
